Command the whole regiment

Every regiment is a formation block of individual soldiers who fight, tire and break together. You give the orders; they hold the line - or don't.

Formation warfare

Right-drag to draw a regiment's front line: its length sets how wide and deep the men stand, the drag sets their facing. Groups march together and keep their shape.

Battle lines that hold

Clashing regiments lock together and push. Depth, bracing and momentum decide who gives ground - and spear walls stop cavalry charges cold.

Morale and routing

Casualties, flank and rear attacks and allies breaking all drain morale. Broken regiments rout, may rally - or shatter and flee the field.

Armour that matters

Head-on infantry fights grind for minutes. Tactics break them fast: flanking, charges and armour-piercing weapons.

Missile fire that makes sense

Archers lob over friendly troops or fire low and direct - and more piercing - when the path is clear. Friendly fire is real where arrows land.

Terrain

High ground hits harder going down. Woods give cover, slow the going, blunt charges and hide your men until the enemy is close.

Fatigue

Marching rests men; jogging, fighting and climbing tire them. Tired regiments fight worse and break sooner.

Objectives

Seize watchtowers for wide sight. Take the enemy camp by outnumbering its defenders - lose yours and you lose the battle.

Build and deploy

Build an army to a points budget, deploy it in your zone, then give the order.
